“For RJD and Congress, biggest concern is to worry about their own family”: PM Modi highlights ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vishwas’ in Purnea

PM Modi Targets Opposition, Announces Big GST Cuts in Purnea Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sharp dig at opposition parties like RJD and Congress during a lively public rally in Purnea, Bihar, on Monday. He stressed that his government’s top priority is the welfare of ordinary people under the motto "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas," while accusing rivals of focusing only on their own families.

Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd, PM Modi said, "For RJD and Congress, their biggest worry is their own family. They never think about your family. But for Modi, you all are my family. That’s why I say Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas." The remark drew cheers, highlighting Modi’s push for inclusive growth in Bihar, a key state ahead of elections.

Modi didn’t stop at criticism—he delivered good news on the economy. His government plans to slash GST rates starting September 22, right at the beginning of Navratri, just before Diwali and Chhath festivals. This move aims to cut household expenses and boost savings for the poor and middle class.

"Modi cares about your daily costs and your savings," he told the audience. "With festivals coming up, we’ve got a huge gift for you. From Navratri’s first day, GST will drop sharply across the country." Everyday items like toothpaste, soap, shampoo, ghee, and many food products will get cheaper. Even stationery for kids’ studies, clothes, and shoes will cost less, making festive shopping easier on the wallet.

PM Modi especially reached out to women in the crowd, saying, "My mothers and sisters, listen up—your kitchen bills will come down big time thanks to these GST reductions." He explained that the changes simplify the tax system into mainly two slabs: 5% and 18%, with a higher 40% rate for luxury and sin goods like tobacco. These GST reforms in India are designed to make life more affordable, spark more spending, and drive economic growth.

Before the rally, PM Modi kicked off several development projects worth about Rs 36,000 crore in Purnea, a district gearing up for polls. From better infrastructure to welfare schemes, his visit underscores Bihar’s role in national progress. As festivals approach, these GST cuts could bring real relief to millions of families.
