Leaders from Pakistan’s opposition party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claim that Pakistan Air Force jets launched a deadly bombing campaign in the Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, killing civilians and leaving at least 20 bodies pulled from the rubble.

The strikes hit hard in the Upper Tirah Akakhel area, where multiple bombs slammed into homes and took out five houses, PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter reports. Civilians, including women and children, bore the brunt, with the party sharing shocking images and videos online showing small bodies scattered amid the destruction.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa expressed deep grief: “Several bombs fell on the local population in Tirah Valley during the jet aircraft bombing. Five houses of local citizens were destroyed, and according to local sources, 20 bodies have been recovered from the rubble so far, including children and women among the martyrs. I have no words that can encompass this sorrow and grief. Sometimes drones, sometimes bombings have sown so many seeds of hatred that when this lava erupts, nothing will be left.”

Provincial Assembly member Abdul Ghani Afridi blasted the attack as state brutality against its own people. “If in Tirah Akakhel, our own protectors have mercilessly martyred innocent children, youth, and women, staining the earth with blood, this is an open crime against humanity,” he wrote on X. He urged the world, international media, and human rights groups to speak out, just as they do for Gaza and Palestine.

Afridi called the scene a “minor apocalypse,” saying the valley where kids once played now holds their tiny corpses. “This is open tyranny, this is state oppression, and it is a black stain on the forehead of history that can never be erased,” he added. He demanded justice, vowing that “the blood of the martyrs must be accounted for” and that every drop of spilled blood will catch up with the rulers.

So far, Pakistan’s government has not confirmed the airstrike or issued any statement on the alleged Pakistan Air Force bombing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
