The attacker, named Rahim, died later from his wounds, and a second accomplice fled the scene. Police say Rahim has a record of several prior arrests for murder and robbery.
Around the same time, a man riding a motorcycle was shot two times in the head near Sherpao Colony in Landhi. Two unknown gunmen chased him and fired at him. Police suspect this was a targeted killing, and investigators are still on the case.
In Bakra Piri, Malir, police clashed with an extortionist. The suspect, Ghulam Qadir, had recently fired weapons at a builder’s shop. Police seized his mobile phone and other weapons and are working with the Samad Kathiwari underground group to solve the case.

Earlier that day, a stray bullet at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) killed a woman and injured a passerby named Abdul Razzaq. The gunmen fled, and police are actively searching for them.
