Tvesa Malik kicked off the 2025 La Sella Open on a promising note, firing a steady 1-under 71 to grab tied-17th spot. As one of seven Indian golfers chasing Ladies European Tour (LET) points in this €1 million showdown in Denia, Spain, she’s leading the pack from her home country. The 19-year-old pro is fighting hard to lock in full LET playing rights, and this solid start keeps her in the mix.
Hitaashee Bakshi wasn’t far behind, carding a 72 to sit tied-28th. India’s top LET stars, Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Urs, both shot 73s and share tied-44th. Ridhima Dilawari managed a 75 for tied-77th, but Avani Prashanth and Vani Kapoor had tougher days with 78s, landing them tied-113th and on the bubble for making the cut.
Up top, Canadian teen sensation Anna Huang stole the show with a stunning bogey-free 64, eight under par, to lead by two shots. The 16-year-old rookie, who snagged her LET card at Q-School last December, was on fire—nailing back-to-back birdies on holes 2 and 3, then three straight from 6 to 8, plus more on 10, 12, and 13. What a debut run in Spain!
For Tvesa, it was all about bouncing back. She started strong on the first tee but dropped a shot on the second. No worries—she clawed it back with a birdie on five. Her round had some exciting swings, like bogey-birdie combos on 8-9 and 12-13, capped by a clutch birdie on 18 to hit that under-par mark.
Hitaashee’s 72 came from five birdies, though three bogeys and a double bogey kept things interesting. Pranavi notched three birdies but gave back with two bogeys and a double. Diksha faced early trouble, dropping three bogeys in her first six holes, but she turned it around on the back nine with three birdies, including two in a row on 16 and 17. That’s the fighting spirit Indian LET players are known for!
Chasing Huang are France’s Nastasia Nadaud and Germany’s Leonie Harm, both at six-under 66 in second place. Slovenia’s Pia Babnik holds fourth with a 67, and local favorite Spain’s Luna Sobron Galmes is fifth at four-under 68.
With the La Sella Open just getting started, keep an eye on these Indian LET hopefuls—they’re bringing the heat in this high-stakes golf tournament.
