Tragic Killing of Karachi Police Constable Sparks Outrage
In a shocking incident in Karachi, Pakistan, a police constable lost his life to unknown gunmen. Constable Sadam Hussain, who worked at the Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station, fell victim to the attack while getting his motorcycle fixed at a nearby puncture shop.
According to police reports cited by ARY News, four armed men in a white car suddenly opened fire on him. The attack happened on September 18, leaving the officer dead on the spot. Investigators found five 9mm pistol shells and one 30-bore pistol shell at the scene, pointing to a targeted shooting.
Rescue teams quickly moved Constable Hussain’s body to a private hospital near the National Stadium for further procedures. This heartbreaking event has raised serious concerns about the safety of law enforcement officers in the city.
Sindh Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Langah wasted no time reacting. He ordered the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West to submit a detailed report right away on the steps being taken. The minister also pushed for a thorough investigation, including forensic analysis and eyewitness accounts. He demanded updates on any arrests linked to the Karachi police constable killing.
This isn’t an isolated case—it’s the second attack on police personnel in recent weeks. Just last month in August, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohammad Khan Abro met a similar fate in Bin Qasim Town. Assailants on a motorcycle shot at him outside his home in what police suspect was a planned hit. ASI Abro, who had previously led the Ghaghar Phatak police post and was stationed at Steel Town Police Station, suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but was declared dead on arrival, as per ARY News.
Following that incident, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stepped in, asking the Inspector General of Police for a full report and urging quick action to nab the culprits.
These back-to-back attacks on police officers in Karachi highlight the growing threats they face daily. Authorities are now racing to crack these cases and bring the attackers to justice, as the city grapples with rising concerns over targeted killings.
