In the rugged highlands of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, tragedy struck when Ziarat Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal and his young son, kidnapped about a month ago, were brutally executed by their captors. Sources told Geo News on Sunday that rescuers retrieved the bodies after the kidnappers shot them and dumped them in a remote area near Quetta.
The shocking incident has sparked outrage across Balochistan. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the killings, calling Afzal a dedicated and hardworking officer who gave his life serving the people. “Those who murder innocents and shatter peace will face justice—they won’t get away with this,” Bugti said in a statement. He praised Afzal’s commitment to the nation and offered deep condolences to the grieving family, describing the attack as a cowardly and brutal act that can never be condemned enough.
Balochistan Governor Jaffar Mandokhail echoed the sorrow, expressing profound grief over the loss of Afzal and his son. “Their sacrifice won’t go in vain,” he said, urging law enforcement to hunt down the perpetrators and deliver swift justice. Mandokhail also shared the family’s pain, vowing that Balochistan stands with them in this heartbreaking time.
As investigations continue into this Pakistan kidnapping case, officials promise a tough crackdown on those fueling violence in the region. The story highlights ongoing security challenges in Balochistan, where such attacks test the resolve of local leaders and communities.
