Police in New South Wales (NSW) said officers were dispatched to a reported gun‑action on a residential road in Blacktown, about 30 km west of central Sydney, around 11:50 am, according to Xinhua. An 18‑year‑old man was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition; a 20‑year‑old woman was admitted with non‑life‑threatening injuries. The officers also heard gunshots and later found bullet casings at the scene.
In another incident, NSW Police reported that emergency services received calls about loud bangs – suspecting gunfire – and a car catching fire on North Liverpool Road in Green Valley, Sydney’s southwest, just after 1 am on Thursday.
