Dhaka, Nov 30 (LatestNewsX) – Two men lost their lives when attackers opened fire outside the gate of the metropolitan sessions judge court in Khulna, Bangladesh, according to local media reports.
Shafiqul Islam, the officer‑in‑charge of Khulna Sadar police station, identified the victims as Md Fazle Rabbi (nicknamed “Razon”) and Hasib Howlader. The Daily Prothom Alo said police have filed six chargesheets against Razon, while Hasib faces several other accusations.
Assistant Commissioner Shihab Karim of the Khulna zone of Khulna Metropolitan Police stated that an investigation has already begun. “We have arrived at the scene and have begun investigating the matter. We are looking into who carried out the killings and the motive behind the shooting. More information will be provided later,” he added.
Witnesses claimed the two men, who were out on bail and had just appeared in court, were sipping tea near the court gate when four or five gunmen launched an attack. The shooters fatally wounded them before slashing and beating them with machetes. The assailants fled the scene, while the two severely injured men were transported to a hospital.
In another incident on November 28, a 32‑year‑old man named Ismail Hossain was stabbed to death about 300 yards from Kotwali Police Station in Chattogram. The Daily Star reports that Hossain, originally from Lakshmipur but residing in Firingibazar, was seriously wounded by unknown assailants. Officer‑in‑charge Abdul Karim said a police petrol crew rescued Hossain around 4 a.m. and rushed him to the hospital, where he later died. An investigation into the shooting is underway.
