Medvedev, Kyrgios, Bopanna, Rybakina, and Badosa to feature in World Tennis League in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 18 – The World Tennis League (WTL) will take its first Indian stadium to Bengaluru this month, turning the city into a global tennis hub. The four‑day event, running from December 17 to 20, will kick off at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium, a top‑tier venue run by the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association.
The broadcast‑ready format brings a line‑up of international stars: Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, Elena Rybakina, Paula Badosa, Gael Monfils, Arthur Fils, Sumit Nagal, Magda Linette and Marta Kostyuk. Adding an Indian flavour, the league invites homegrown talent such as Yuki Bhambri, Ankita Raina, Shrivalli Bhamidipaty, Maaya Revathi, Dhakshineswar Suresh and Shivika Burman. Their participation promises to boost tennis’s popularity across the country.
Elena Rybakina, world No. 5, expressed her excitement: “I’ve heard so much about India’s tennis culture, and I’m thrilled to debut here with the WTL. The league’s format is exhilarating, and I’m ready to enjoy every moment on the court with my team.”
Co‑founder Mahesh Bhupathi, a 12‑time Grand Slam champion, said the event is a milestone for Indian tennis: “India’s love for the sport runs deep.
