Man arrested from Noida for sending terror threat to Mumbai Traffic Police

A man named Ashwini was arrested in Noida on Saturday after sending a threatening message to Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp number. In the message, he warned of a major terror attack in Mumbai, claiming that 14 terrorists from Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Jihadi had already entered the city. He also said that 34 vehicles across Mumbai were loaded with 400 kg of RDX explosives, which could cause massive blasts and kill millions.

Mumbai Police acted quickly after receiving the threat. They contacted their counterparts in Noida and formed a special team to track down the sender. Police traced Ashwini to Sector-113 in Noida, arrested him, and handed him over to Mumbai authorities for more investigation.

The police stated that the threat came on Thursday, just as Mumbai was finishing Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and starting the idol immersion process. The message created panic, mentioning that the vehicles contained human bombs capable of killing a crore (10 million) people and causing chaos in the city.

In response, Mumbai Police ramped up security across key areas. Bomb disposal squads were deployed at vital locations, and intelligence agencies joined the probe. Authorities checked parking lots, basements, and other potential sites to ensure safety.

During initial questioning, Ashwini claimed he is an astrologer. His mobile phone, which was used to send the threatening message, has been seized by police. Investigators are now looking into his background, motives, and whether he has links to any extremist groups.

Mumbai Police assured the public that they are fully prepared to handle any security threats. They emphasized that thorough checks have been completed to keep the city safe. Now, authorities continue to verify the authenticity of the threat and ensure there is no danger to Mumbai’s residents.

Stay tuned for updates as the investigation continues.
