Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Pushes for Faster Development in Gwalior
In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took charge of key development projects on Monday. He held a detailed review meeting at the Gwalior Collectorate to check how things are moving along in the district.
Scindia didn’t stop at just meetings—he visited major sites and urged officials to finish the work on time while keeping quality top-notch. "We had a solid review session yesterday and today on projects like the railway station and the Ambedkar statue in Jorasi," Scindia shared with . He added that an all-party meeting brought together the State BJP President, MPs, and the Mayor to discuss 20 important points. They mapped out future steps and a clear roadmap for these initiatives.
The talks focused on some big-ticket Gwalior development projects that could transform the city. Here’s a quick look at the highlights:
- Gwalior Elevated Road: This Rs 1,373.13 crore project will roll out in two phases and wrap up by 2027, easing traffic woes.
- Gwalior Railway Station Redevelopment: A massive Rs 534.70 crore upgrade aims for completion by April 2026, making travel smoother for everyone.
- Agra-Gwalior Expressway: At Rs 4,613 crore, this highway will connect the cities faster and boost connectivity.
- Gwalior Water Distribution Scheme: Worth Rs 1,900 crore, it promises better water supply across the district.
Scindia also checked on other key works, including the Rs 1,347.6 crore Gwalior Western Bypass to cut down congestion, a new multilevel car parking at Maharaj Bada, and renovations at the Government Press Building to house an Industrial Museum. On the list were the Super Speciality Hospital underbridge, city entry gate beautification, and the Ambedkar Dham construction at Jorasi in Dabra.
Beyond infrastructure, Scindia reviewed law and order, sewage management, and challenges at Gajra Raja Medical College to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Praising the efforts, Scindia highlighted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s guidance are propelling Madhya Pradesh forward. "Our aim is simple: finish every project on schedule and to the best standards," he said. With these updates, Gwalior’s growth looks set to accelerate, bringing real benefits to locals.
