Twenty-five young winners of India’s National Flag Quiz are gearing up for an unforgettable adventure. Starting this Sunday, they’ll head to Siachen, the world’s highest battlefield, to spend 72 hours with the Indian Army. The trip promises hands-on lessons in leadership, resilience, and nation-building, straight from soldiers guarding the nation’s borders.
Organized by the Department of Youth Affairs under the MY Bharat platform, this initiative rewards top performers from the quiz held August 1-15, 2025. More than 1.1 lakh youths joined the competition as part of Independence Day festivities, testing their knowledge of the Indian flag and its significance.
From September 28-30, 2025, these 25 participants will reach Siachen Base Camp. There, they’ll dive deep into the realities of border life. Army briefings will cover the tough operational, geographical, and ecological challenges of serving at such extreme heights. The group will tour training areas, honor fallen heroes at the war memorial, and chat with soldiers who brave harsh conditions to protect India.
Each youth will bring a personal touch: a handwritten letter to the Army. In it, they’ll share their vision for Viksit Bharat—a developed India—and thank the Armed Forces for their vital role in building a secure, strong nation.
The experience doesn’t stop at military insights. Visitors will also explore Leh’s rich cultural heritage and get a glimpse into local entrepreneurship and business ventures, highlighting how communities thrive in tough terrains.
This isn’t just a trip—it’s a bridge to inspire patriotism and responsibility. As one official put it, MY Bharat is shaping a new generation of young Indians committed to national service and ready to lead the country forward.
