Punjab Boosts Security Amid Festive Season Threats from Pakistan and ISI
Punjab’s top cop, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, warned on Monday that Pakistan and its intelligence agency, the ISI, are ramping up efforts to stir trouble in the state after India’s Operation Sindoor. With the festive season kicking off, Yadav said police are on high alert and have stepped up security across Punjab to keep things calm.
Speaking to reporters in Amritsar, Yadav shared key updates. "Based on intelligence inputs, Pakistan and the ISI have pushed hard to create disturbances in Punjab following Operation Sindoor," he explained. To counter this, authorities reviewed security plans and boosted police presence statewide. They brought in seven companies from the Border Security Force for border districts and deployed 50 more from their own resources to cover all areas.
Yadav also spotlighted Punjab Police’s crackdown on organized crime. The force launched a new toll-free helpline yesterday for tips on criminal activities. Since last September, they’ve busted 26 terrorist modules and remain fully committed to preserving peace and harmony in Punjab.
