Ahmedabad businessman Rakesh Lahoti has filed a formal complaint against builder Kamlesh Gondalia and his family, alleging a multi‑crore property scam that spanned from 2019 to 2025. The case was lodged at the DCP Crime Office in Gaikwad Haveli.
The complaint claims that Lahoti’s companies—Clearsky Tradelink LLP and Rakesh Investment Co.—signed real sale agreements with the Gondalia group for several high‑value homes across Ahmedabad and Kheda districts. The properties listed include:
* Six flats in Takshashila Elegna (Ellisbridge)
* Land parcels in Nayka, Kheda (Survey Nos. 390–397)
* A bungalow in Ambli (Plot No. 21, TP 215)
* Two flats in Treasure Enclave, Bopal (Units B‑19 and B‑20)
Lahoti says he paid each property in full but never received possession or ownership papers. Instead, the Gondalia family allegedly used forged documents, repeated sales, and false financial statements. The builder’s website and the RERA portal falsely marked the properties as “unbooked,” while the Gondalia group performed internal family transfers and sold the same assets to other buyers and lenders.
In June 2025, the builder reportedly sent Rs 3 crore to Lahoti’s account, labeling it a “loan repayment.” Lahoti claims the transfer was a sham designed to hide the fraud and shut down the deals. After confronting Lahoti, the builder allegedly threatened the businessman and filed retaliatory claims.
The FIR cites several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (2023)—including cheating, forgery, and criminal breach of trust—highlighting organized financial crime. Lahoti has supplied registered agreements, bank records, and legal notices to the Crime Detection Branch, the Commissioner of Police, and RERA authorities. He demands a full investigation, freezing of the disputed properties, and a forensic audit of all projects linked to the Gondalia family.
“We were promised legitimate ownership and transparent dealings. Instead, the Gondalia family took our money, betrayed our trust, and used every trick to deny us what’s rightfully ours,” Lahoti said. He warned that unchecked builder scams could erode public confidence in Ahmedabad’s real‑estate market.
