Hyderabad – The leader of the All India Majlis‑ul‑Muawjah (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi, said on Friday that his party will keep fighting for justice and better development in Bihar’s border region, Seemanchal.
Owaisi welcomed the vote from the people of Bihar, which gave the AIMIM five seats in the state assembly. “We welcome the public mandate. We congratulate Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and wish him all the best,” he told reporters.
During a press conference, Owaisi pledged close cooperation with the Bihar government. He outlined plans to lift Seemanchal’s living standards by building schools, hospitals, bridges, and new industries that will create jobs for women and children. “Our focus is on progress and on cutting child mortality,” he added.
The AIMIM had lost seats in the 2020 elections, but the party says that split elections and the pull‑out of four MLAs by rivals in 2022 did not change its resolve to stay in Seemanchal. “We will keep up the fight for our people,” Owaisi said, thanking voters in the region for electing the party’s five MLAs.
He urged the Muslim community across India not to wait for outside leaders to act in their favour. “If you are a voter for someone else, you’ll be forgotten when an emergency happens. Be a citizen, demand your rights,” he said.
Owaisi also called on secular parties in Bihar to examine why they failed to block the BJP’s growing influence. He said the BJP had out‑competed allies like the RJD and that the state’s voters were mistakenly persuaded by the “M‑Y” combination of parties.
In contrast, he praised Congress’s Naveen Yadav, who won a recent by‑poll in Jubilee Hills. “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy called me and thanked the AIMIM for supporting him,” Owaisi said. He hopes the new government will boost the city’s infrastructure and civic amenities.
The AIMIM leader alike defended his party’s stand in Telangana, noting that the vote share of the ruling BRS party has been falling. His comments come as the BJP, RJD, and Congress navigate a changing political landscape in Bihar while the AIMIM strives to keep its voice heard in both Hyderabad and the border states.
