Air India’s flight AI154, bound from Vienna to New Delhi, made an emergency stop in Dubai on Friday after a technical fault. The airline said the diversion was due to a problem on the aircraft, not the electrical failure rumors that circulated earlier.

The plane touched down safely at Dubai International Airport, where technicians ran a quick check before the aircraft rebounded on schedule. Passengers were kept in the loop about the delay, given drinks and snacks, and the flight took off from Dubai at 08:45 IST. It arrived in Delhi at 12:19 IST, slightly later than the original timetable.

Air India spokespersons stressed that safety is the airline’s top priority. “All passengers were informed of the delay and given refreshments,” a spokesperson said. “The flight departed as soon as the necessary checks were complete, and the aircraft landed safely in Delhi.”

Although initial reports blamed a power‑system failure, Air India clarified that the issue was a general technical fault. The airline added it has taken all required precautions and that operations went back to normal after the checks.

The incident underscores the airline’s commitment to passenger safety and clear communication during unforeseen disruptions. Despite the short delay, the flight reached its destination without incident, re‑affirming Air India’s focus on safe and reliable service.
