Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his wife, Bhuvaneswari, marked Diwali with a fireworks‑filled night in their home at Undavalli on Monday. After a traditional puja, the pair lit lamps and set off firecrackers in the courtyard, celebrating the festival that reminds everyone of light winning over darkness.
Following the evening’s festivities, Naidu took to X to share his thoughts. He said the Diwali celebration is a key part of Telugu culture and a chance to pray for the state’s prosperity. “May the lights of Diwali stay eternal,” he wrote, adding a wish that every day in Andhra Pradesh could feel like a festival. His message reached thousands of followers who shared the joy of the night.
Earlier, on Sunday, the Chief Minister joined a larger Diwali gathering at Punnami Ghat on the banks of the Krishna River in Vijayawada. While there, he visited the bustling Beasant Road market to hear directly from traders and small‑business owners about the impact of recent GST reforms on prices. He talked with street vendors—one selling jute bags and another selling footwear—about how tax changes have affected their incomes during the holiday season.
During his trip, Naidu also emphasized his vision for the state as a future hub for artificial intelligence. He highlighted the upcoming Google data centre in Visakhapatnam, saying it would bring advanced services to many countries. He praised the central government’s efforts over the past year and the state’s fast‑track finances, noting the several welfare initiatives under the Super Six programme.
Naidu’s public engagement on Diwali shows his focus on community celebrations, economic recovery, and long‑term tech development—key themes for Andhra Pradesh’s future.
