Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu told an audience in Dubai that his state is putting green energy, technology, data centres and a new quantum‑technology hub—called Quantum Valley—high on its development list. He said the government is actively creating an industry‑friendly climate, and highlighted Google’s recent investment plans in the state.
Naidu also pointed out that Andhra Pradesh offers wide opportunities for food‑processing businesses. “We have fertile ground and sound infrastructure for food processing, and we’re ready to welcome investors,” he said.
He spoke during the first day of a three‑day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which aimed to attract foreign capital and lead up to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) partnership summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14‑15.
A large crowd of Telugu community members, including women and entrepreneurs, greeted Naidu at Dubai airport. He met A. Amarnath, the Indian Embassy’s Charge d’affaires, and Satish Sivan, Consulate General of India in Dubai. Consul General Sivan highlighted the UAE’s growing partnership with India in trade and technology, and stressed that both sides are increasing their mutual investments.
“The UAE spends heavily on technology and has shifted its focus from oil to a knowledge‑based economy,” Sivan said. He noted that the UAE founded a separate ministry for Artificial Intelligence in 2017. Amarnath added that UAE investors have already poured US $23 billion into India and see a 50 % return within three years. The UAE plans further investments in India’s education, health, green‑energy, and food‑park sectors.
Naidu said that ties between India and the UAE have strengthened significantly over the past decade. He credited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s international outreach, which has boosted trade relations worldwide, and emphasised the growing importance of India to economies dealing with ageing populations.
Accompanied by ministers BC Janardhana Reddy, TG Bharath, and other officials, Naidu concluded his visit with a message of optimism about deeper Indo‑UAE collaboration and the potential for new business opportunities in Andhra Pradesh’s emerging technology and green‑energy sectors.
