The Indian Army’s Spear Corps wrapped up a two-week Yoga training program for its soldiers in Along, Arunachal Pradesh, boosting their physical fitness and mental strength in tough terrain.
From September 15 to 27, 2025, the sessions brought together around 100 troops under expert instructors. They focused on Yoga’s core elements—like poses, breathing exercises, and meditation—to tackle the daily stresses of high-altitude operations and harsh weather.
Yoga didn’t just build stamina and focus; it helped soldiers stay calm, balance emotions, and tap into inner strength during high-pressure missions. “These practices give troops real tools to handle stress, bounce back from exhaustion, and stay sharp for any challenge,” said a Defence PRO.
Troops dove in with real enthusiasm, proving how this ancient Indian practice fits right into modern military life. As the PRO noted, “Yoga matches the Army’s emphasis on discipline and self-control. It unites body, mind, and spirit, turning soldiers into even stronger defenders who keep cool under fire.”
This effort highlights the Indian Army’s push for holistic wellness, aligning with India’s national drive to make Yoga a daily habit. By ending the program on a high note in Along, the Spear Corps showed its dedication to creating well-rounded warriors ready for anything.
