The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has launched a special outreach program in Arunachal Pradesh to connect with local communities, students, and government officials. The initiative, called ‘Project Brahmank,’ took place in Pasighat, Lower Siang District, and aims to build better understanding between BRO personnel and the people of the region.
During this week-long event, BRO teams—including officers, engineers, supervisors, and staff—met with representatives from local universities and colleges. The main goal was to share information about BRO’s work and encourage young, talented individuals to consider careers in the organization. At the same time, the BRO team gained valuable insights from academic institutions through interactive sessions and discussions.
As part of the program, BRO teams visited well-known universities such as Arunachal Pradesh University, Apex University, and Rashtra Raksha University. In return, faculty members, students, and researchers visited the Project Brahmank headquarters, where they attended presentations, watched movies, and saw demonstrations of engineering equipment used by the BRO. This exchange helped both sides understand each other’s work better.
The program saw great enthusiasm, with around 120 BRO personnel participating in university visits, and 75-80 students and faculty engaging in lively discussions and activities. During the events at the institutions, Vice-Chancellors and Principals showcased their support, while at Project Brahmank, officers like Colonel Ashish Raisinghani hosted the visitors.
Sonalika Jiwani, the Deputy Commissioner, also supported the initiative, encouraging local colleges and universities to actively participate. The collaboration between the BRO team and educational leaders helped make the program a meaningful success for the community.
Colonel Raisinghani highlighted how Project Brahmank plays a key role in connecting remote parts of Arunachal Pradesh and boosting the region’s development. Besides building roads and infrastructure, the BRO is involved in social welfare activities such as medical camps, cleanliness drives, skill training, and motivational programs for local youth.
He also expressed hope that this partnership will strengthen ties between BRO and the local communities, opening new opportunities for young people in the Siang districts. The BRO team looks forward to continuing these efforts and working closely with local authorities to support the region’s growth and development.
