BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari fired sharp criticism at the Congress party on Monday, claiming it’s working against India’s national interest and acting as Pakistan’s “B-Team.” His comments came right after Team India’s thrilling win over arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bhandari targeted Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for skipping congratulations to the Indian cricket team. “Congress is against India’s national interest!” he wrote. “Rahul Gandhi hasn’t congratulated our team yet for thrashing Pakistan on the sports field. And now, with Pakistan cornered, Congress leaders are calling for ‘sportsman spirit’ toward them. Why does Congress always side with Pakistan over India?”
Bhandari didn’t hold back on Rahul Gandhi either. He accused Congress of supporting Pakistan during key moments like “Operation Sindoor” and “Operation Tilak,” adding, “Rahul Gandhi is the best friend of Asim Munir,” referring to Pakistan’s army chief.
The Asia Cup 2025 final, held at Dubai International Stadium, delivered classic India-Pakistan drama. Pakistan looked strong at 113 for one in the 13th over, but India’s spinners turned the tide on a tricky two-paced pitch. Kuldeep Yadav led the charge, helping bowl out Pakistan for just 146 in 19.1 overs—they lost nine wickets for only 33 runs.
Chasing 147, India sealed a five-wicket victory, lifting the trophy for a record ninth time. Fans across cities, towns, and villages exploded in joy Sunday night, with chants, fireworks, and social media lighting up with excitement over the historic Team India win against Pakistan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the moment on X, calling it “Operation Sindoor on the games field.” He posted, “Outcome is the same—India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.” The victory has sparked heated political debates, blending cricket passion with India-Pakistan tensions.
