Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off several major development projects worth over Rs 34,200 crore during the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He focused on sectors like maritime infrastructure, healthcare, energy, and more, while laying the foundation for initiatives that promise big changes for the region.
People across Gujarat couldn’t hide their excitement on Saturday. They shared stories of how government schemes are truly helping the poor, creating jobs, and sparking new business opportunities. “These projects will keep boosting employment and growth in the state,” one resident said, echoing the hope many feel.
Maritime developments stole the show. Folks raved about new ports, cruise terminals, and coastal security upgrades. They see landmark efforts like the Dholera and Lothal projects as game-changers that will put Gujarat on the map and fill locals with pride.
Everyday improvements in healthcare, energy, and infrastructure are making a real difference too. A local shared, “The Prime Minister’s speech inspires us all on national security and progress.” Many believe these moves are lifting India’s global profile, making the country feel safer and stronger under Modi’s leadership. They just want the benefits to keep flowing to grassroots communities.
At the event, chatted with kids and women who attended. Young Sanjay beamed as he said, “I gave a painting to PM Modi. I’m so proud he accepted it from me.”
A woman from Bhavnagar added her thanks: “Whatever PM Modi launches will lift our city to new heights. I support his Swadeshi push completely. We craft handicrafts and are all in on ‘Vocal for Local’ to promote homegrown talent.”
Bhagirath Trivedi chimed in, “Today’s program was outstanding. Under PM Modi’s guidance, Bhavnagar has grown tremendously. Every sector is advancing, and nearly all schemes are reaching everyday people.”
Earlier, Modi highlighted ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’—India’s drive for self-reliance—while unveiling maritime projects alone worth more than Rs 7,870 crore. These upgrades target key ports and aim to supercharge coastal progress.
Speaking to a huge crowd at Jawahar Maidan in Bhavnagar, Modi declared, “This event centers on Bhavnagar, but it’s for all of India. We’re steering from ‘Samudra’ (ocean) to ‘Samriddhi’ (prosperity), and I thank Gujarat’s people for hosting it.”
He also expressed deep gratitude for birthday wishes pouring in from across India and the world. “Your love and blessings are my biggest strength,” he said.
Kids at the gathering presented Modi with paintings and sketches, which warmed his heart. He thanked them warmly and asked officials to collect the artwork.
Modi gave a shoutout to the ongoing ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ service campaign, running from Vishwakarma Jayanti on September 17 to Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. “Millions are joining in nationwide,” he noted. In Gujarat alone, a 15-day version is underway, with recent activities including blood donation camps where over 1 lakh people rolled up their sleeves. Cleanliness drives drew lakhs more, and health camps targeted women especially.
“I thank everyone involved in these acts of service,” Modi added, urging more participation to build a stronger, self-reliant India.
