Patna, Bihar – In the run‑up to Bihar’s 2025 assembly elections, chief leaders of the main parties are clearing up confusion over seat‑sharing talks that have been swirling on social media.
Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) national president Upendra Kushwaha said that the negotiations are still going on and have not ended. “Don’t believe the rumours that are spreading online,” he wrote on X. “The talks are not finished yet – just wait.” The post, shared in Hindi, warned readers that some fake news might be circulating and urged everyone to stay alert.
Kushwaha’s message comes as the state heads into a two‑phase voting schedule. Phase 1 is set for Nov. 6, followed by phase 2 on Nov. 11. Voting will be counted on Nov. 14.
Meanwhile BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal told the press that the seat‑sharing issue with the NDA partner has been settled. “In Delhi we held a three‑day committee meeting to decide the split,” he said. “The central election committee will announce the candidate list next week.” Jaiswal said the Central Parliamentary Board will name the BJP candidates for the upcoming polls.
The Bihar elections will pit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP against the INDIA bloc, which includes the Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) headed by Tejashwi Yadav, the Congress and several communist parties, plus the Vikasheel Insaan Party.
In a surprising move, Prashant Kishor and his Jan Suraaj team have also declared ambitions for every one of the state’s 243 seats.
With dates set and parties ready, voters in Bihar can look forward to the election phases next month, even as political leaders try to calm rumors and prepare for a contested contest.
