Congress Gears Up for Bihar Assembly Elections: Key Meeting in Patna Signals Big Moves

In Patna, the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) kicked off a crucial meeting on Thursday at Sadaqat Ashram. The focus? Crafting a smart strategy for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections and picking the right candidates to take on the challenge.

What caught everyone’s eye was Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, better known as Pappu Yadav, showing up at the meeting. Pappu Yadav has ties to the Congress party but often felt overlooked in the past. This time, he sat right next to top leaders, sparking buzz in political circles. Many see this as a hint that Pappu Yadav could step into a bigger role in the party’s Bihar election plans.

The meeting brought together heavyweights like Congress in-charge for Bihar Krishna Allavaru, Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Singh, BPCC President Rajesh Ram, Legislative Party Leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and former state president Madan Mohan Jha. Congress MPs, MLAs, MLCs, state secretaries, and heads of key party wings also joined in.

This 39-member State Election Committee dove into screening potential candidates and mapping out the early steps for the Bihar state elections. With Pappu Yadav making a strong appearance and the party prepping for more big talks, it’s clear Congress means business this election season.

Right after this huddle, the action shifts to Delhi. On September 19, the Screening Committee will lock in names for the first phase of candidates. Party insiders say the high command wants leaders who pack popularity, balance social dynamics, and have a real shot at winning.

Things heat up even more with the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting set for September 24 in Patna. This marks the first time the party’s top decision-making body gathers in Bihar. Expect Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and other senior leaders to attend.

On the agenda? Tackling issues like vote theft, problems with voter lists, and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Party sources call this CWC session a game-changer, helping Congress fine-tune its Bihar election strategy to fight strong.

As Bihar’s political scene ramps up, these steps show the Congress party’s push to reclaim ground in the state Assembly elections. Stay tuned for more updates on candidate picks and election twists.
