Patna, Oct 26 – Purnia Airport is now flying higher than ever, after it opened commercial flight operations just a month ago. The airport has added direct routes to two of India’s busiest hubs: Delhi and Hyderabad.
The new services have drawn crowds of excited passengers. People are hailing the flights as a big win for the city, saying they love the idea of traveling straight to the capital and India’s IT hub, and thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his role in making it happen. The flights keep travel costs the same, but they cut travel times significantly.
Airport director DP Gupta said the first plane landed in Purnia last Sunday. “All seats on the Delhi flight were filled, and the Hyderabad flight was over 90 percent full,” he told reporters. “Demand has been strong for the past two days, and the public’s enthusiasm is clear.”
Students also feel the impact. Arsh, a BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus student, said, “Before, getting to Hyderabad from Purnia was hard. Now, the new flight makes it quick and convenient. I thank the Modi government for this move.”
Zoya Sultana, a medical student in Hyderabad, added, “The lack of an airport near Muzaffarpur made travel tough. With direct flights from Purnia, everything is easier. I’m grateful to the central government.”
Purnia resident Pammi Sharma shared her joy, “PM Modi has given our city a great gift. Our children can now fly straight to Delhi and Hyderabad. This is a big step for our city’s development, and we thank the Prime Minister.”
With Delhi and Hyderabad on the roster, Purnia Airport is now a gateway that connects the city to major economic centers, boosting both travel convenience and local pride.
