New Delhi, Nov 14 – The Bihar Assembly election vote count kicked off Friday morning with full‑scale security and a clear process.
Counting began at 8 a.m. with postal ballots, and the next round started at 8:30 a.m. to include Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPAT slips. Over 38 districts across the state run 46 counting centres, each protected by a three‑tier security setup.
The inner ring around the strongrooms and counting halls is guarded by the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). Outside that, Bihar Police and district officers keep the perimeter safe. More than 100 security teams from outside the state are on duty. Strongrooms stay under 24/7 CCTV surveillance, and candidates can watch outside the inner perimeter.
Gayaji SSP Anand Kumar said all strong rooms have triple‑layer protection. In Bhojpur, SP Raj confirmed that security barricades cover the town and subdivision areas, with eight CAPF companies installed for law and order. Bhagalpur Municipal Commissioner Shubham Kumar added that counting is in progress in Gopalpur, Bihpur and Sultanganj seats, with a magistrate at every venue and candidates’ polling agents entering freely.
The Election Commission watches the entire process. Each of the 243 elections has its own Returning Officer and Counting Observer, while 18,000 count‑agents from the candidates line the halls. Only people with valid passes enter the counting centres, and the use of mobile phones inside the counting rooms is banned.
The Commission urges reporters and voters to check the official results portal for the most accurate updates. Live, real‑time results and trends are available on the Election Commission’s website and the Voter Helpline App.
