Manik Saha, the Chief Minister of Tripura, said on Friday that voters in Bihar are moving away from what he calls “jungle raj” and favoring development under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He added that a similar shift could soon happen in West Bengal.
Saha was speaking at a ceremony in Agartala where a private university’s foundation stone was laid. He said the vote‑counting in Bihar is showing a strong lead for the NDA and that the public has rejected the influence of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav. “People in Bihar want progress, and they know only the BJP can deliver it,” he told reporters.
The CM mentioned he had campaigned in three Assembly seats in the Champaran region. According to him, the NDA is ahead in all three, indicating a broader trend. “This is just a tip of the iceberg,” he said.
Saha congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah for their teamwork. “Lalu ji and others cannot come back because the people know their crimes,” he added.
He also said West Bengal will be the next target for the NDA. “If Bengal changes, it will transform India’s image,” he said.
BJP leaders and volunteers in Bihar celebrated the party’s win in the Assembly elections. Former minister Bhagaban Das, BJP vice‑president Papia Datta, district president Asim Bhattacharjee, and media‑cell chief Sunit Sarkar participated in a victory parade called “Bijoy Utsav.”
