Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant hit the campaign trail in Bihar to rally support for the BJP ahead of the state’s assembly elections. Speaking to reporters, he highlighted how the NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, prioritizes development to build a Viksit Bharat and a Viksit Bihar. Sawant expressed strong confidence that the alliance will return to power, saying the people of Bihar fully back this vision.
During his visit to Patna and Darbhanga, Sawant didn’t hold back on his criticisms. He accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav of wanting to shield Bangladeshis and Rohingyas settled in the state. “Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav want to protect the Bangladeshis and Rohingyas who have settled in the state,” Sawant told . “But the people of the state are aware that the NDA government is working towards Viksit Bharat and Viksit Bihar. The people support the NDA government. The NDA government will be formed in the state again.”
Sawant couldn’t stop praising Bihar’s impressive makeover. Arriving at Patna’s airport for the first time during election season, he marveled at how it felt like stepping into an international hub. “I was visiting Bihar for the first time during the elections. As I landed, I saw how much Bihar had changed… I felt as if I had arrived at an international airport,” he shared with reporters. He plans to spend two days in the state, interacting with BJP workers to boost the campaign. “For the campaign, I was in Bihar for two days, which were today and tomorrow. I also interacted with party workers in the state,” he added.
When asked about his plans, Sawant predicted a clear win for the BJP-led alliance. “Definitely, the people of Bihar will call for the return of the double-engine government,” he said, referring to the synergy between the state and central governments under NDA rule.
Sawant also fired back at Rahul Gandhi’s recent claims that democracy faces threats in India. He argued that the real dangers to democracy happened during Congress’s time in power. Turning to the positives, he spotlighted Modi’s focus on infrastructure and human resource development. “I would say that the biggest danger was during the time of Congress… Now, Modi ji’s sabka saath sabka vikas government is there. That is why infrastructure development and human resource development are going on very well in Bihar, and in the rest of the country,” Sawant asserted.
This visit underscores the NDA’s push in Bihar assembly elections, where development and strong leadership remain key talking points.
