Patna, Oct 13 – Jan Suraaj has rolled out a second slate of 65 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, aiming to give a voice to every community in the state. The list contains 20 reserved seats—19 for Scheduled Castes and 1 for Scheduled Tribes—and 45 general seats.

National president Uday Singh explained that the numbers show the party’s pledge to inclusiveness. “We’re announcing candidates from the largest Extremely Backward Class group—10 Hindus and 4 Muslims—from 14 seats, plus 10 from the Other Backward Class and 14 from the Minority Community,” Singh said. He also highlighted a Scheduled‑Caste candidate in the Harnaut constituency of Nalanda district, underscoring Jan Suraaj’s commitment to represent Scheduled Castes and Tribes even in general seats.

The lineup features several well‑known faces. Dr Shahnawaz Alam, a respected physician in Siwan, will stand from Badhariya. Other prominent entries include Abhaykant Jha in Bhagalpur, Neeraj Singh in Sheohar, Lalababu Yadav in Narkatiaganj, Mantosh Sahani from Kalyanpur, Rajiv Ranjan Singh in Sandesh, Azam Anwar Hussain in Bajpatti, Ratneshwar Thakur from Harlakhi, Janardan Yadav in Narpatganj, and Tanuja Kumari in Islampur.

So far, Jan Suraaj has named candidates for 116 seats out of the 243 available in Bihar. The first list released earlier included 51 candidates, 49 of whom were contesting for the first time.

Led by strategist Prashant Kishor, the party plans to contest every seat in the state on its own, without any alliances. Kishor has kicked off the campaign in Raghopur Assembly constituency of Vaishali district and is putting pressure on both the National Democratic Alliance and the Grand Alliance. He positions Jan Suraaj as a fresh third option for voters, distinct from the NDA and the INDIA Bloc.

This move marks Jan Suraaj’s bold push in the upcoming Bihar elections, with the party targeting a broad coalition of voters by focusing on representation, community outreach, and independent campaigning.
