In Patna on Wednesday, Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial candidate of the Grand Alliance, told reporters that the coalition will form Bihar’s government after the election on Nov 14. He dismissed exit‑polls that give the NDA an advantage.
Tejashwi spoke from his office at the official residence and highlighted a sharp rise in voter turnout. “More than 7.2 million extra people went to the polls – that’s nearly a 10‑point jump from 2020,” he said. “With roughly 29,000 extra votes at each booth, people are demanding a change.”
He said ground feedback points to an even stronger performance than the Alliance’s 1995 win and expects a decisive victory. “People have voted for change. The BJP leaders feel the pressure,” he added. “We will take the oath on Nov 18.”
The leader countered the exit polls released Tuesday, questioning their sample size and accusing some news channels of bias. “What relevance do they have? Some were told by Amit Shah to favor the NDA,” Yadav said. “Past polls that promised over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha or predicted West Bengal and Jharkhand results didn’t materialise.” He warned that such polls may pressure officials and promised vigilance from polling stations to the counting centre.
Yadav also criticized the central government’s security deployment, saying the flag‑marches were a tactic to exert pressure on Bihar officers. “They staged flag marches here that wouldn’t be held in Delhi after the blast – it’s all about pressure,” he said.
The Bihar election on Nov 14 is expected to bring a new government, as voters aim for change and the Grand Alliance gears up to take power.
