Prime Minister Narendra Modi fired off a sharp criticism of Bihar’s opposition on Thursday, warning that the state’s people will not forget a period of “Jungle Raj” for long.
The PM’s remarks hit a day after the Grand Alliance announced Tejashwi Yadav as its chief‑ministerial candidate for the upcoming state election. Modi called the anti‑NDA coalition a “Lathbandhan” or “stick alliance,” saying most of its leaders are out on bail.
In an audio‑conference call with BJP workers, Modi urged cadres to remind young voters of the harsh “Jungle Raj” era. “Bring the youth to every booth, invite elders to share stories of that time,” he said. “Bihar’s people must never forget those days.”
The Prime Minister highlighted the progress made under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He pointed to new hospitals, schools, and railway lines as evidence of stability and good governance in both the center and the state. “The youth are confident and optimistic,” Modi added, urging them to canvass door‑to‑door and encourage voter turnout.
He concluded by expressing confidence that a new chapter of women’s empowerment will start in Bihar when the NDA is re‑elected on November 14. The PM’s message underscores that the upcoming election will be a turning point, with young voters playing a decisive role.
