BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal has hit out at Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor, claiming he funneled crores of rupees through shell companies. Jaiswal raised these concerns while speaking to reporters in Bettiah, questioning where the money came from and how Kishor handled it.
The timing couldn’t be more charged, with Bihar Assembly elections approaching later this year. Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party plans to run independently, steering clear of both the ruling NDA alliance and the opposition Mahagathbandhan, backed by RJD and Congress.
Jaiswal pointed to a specific example: Kishor admitted getting Rs 14 crores from Ayodhya Rami Reddy but didn’t explain why that cash didn’t go straight into the Jan Suraaj Party’s account. “Why would companies losing money hand over crores just to Prashant Kishor?” Jaiswal asked. He compared it to the old “cam” scandal under Congress rule, predicting that “round-tripping” funds would become a household term linked to Kishor.
Jaiswal’s comments came as a sharp reply to Kishor’s own accusation against him over a petrol pump issue in Bettiah.
In a separate development, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi blasted opposition leaders on Sunday for alleged abusive remarks targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother during a Bihar rally. Manjhi called it a low blow, saying desperate politicians resort to such crude tactics just to grab headlines. “When people get frustrated, they stoop to dirty words and actions—it’s totally condemnable and insulting,” he told reporters. He urged Bihar voters to keep a close eye on this behavior and deliver a strong message at the polls.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh echoed the outrage, slamming the RJD for the incident. He tied it to the chaotic governance under Lalu Yadav back in 2005, warning it shows what could happen if they regain power. “It doesn’t surprise me coming from Tejashwi Yadav’s platform—there’s no real difference between him and Rahul Gandhi,” Singh said. He demanded an apology from both, adding that using indecent language against the PM’s mother insults Bihar’s pride. Without one, Singh believes Bihar’s people will hold them accountable in the elections.
