BJP trying to destabilise Mamata govt through violence, but failing: Shiv Sena-UBT

Shiv Sena-UBT Backs Mamata Banerjee Amid TMC Leader’s Acid Threat Controversy

In the midst of a heated political row in West Bengal, Shiv Sena-UBT has thrown its full weight behind Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The party slammed the BJP for trying to stir up violence and chaos to topple her government. This comes after a shocking viral video of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abdur Rahim Boxi making controversial threats.

Boxi, who heads TMC’s Malda district unit, sparked outrage with his remarks at a public meeting in Malatipur on Saturday night. In the video, he warns against anyone insulting migrant workers from Bengal. "I strongly resent the abominable comments made by a BJP MLA," Boxi says. He then adds, "How dare he insult our Bengali citizens who leave the state in search of work? I caution him—I will pour acid into the throat of anyone making such statements to silence them."

Shiv Sena-UBT spokesperson Anand Dubey didn’t hold back in defending Banerjee. Speaking to reporters, he accused the BJP of repeatedly attempting to destabilize West Bengal’s government through instigated violence and clashes. "But they always fail because the people of Bengal stand rock-solid with Mamata Banerjee’s leadership," Dubey said. He praised Banerjee for her efforts to protect Bengali identity, boost culture, and push forward state development.

Dubey painted a stark contrast with the BJP, calling it a party linked to "acid attacks, bombings, and firing." He added, "The public won’t fall for their drama. They’ll defeat the BJP in elections, and the government is more than capable of handling law and order."

Vice Presidential Election Buzz: Opposition Eyes Upset

Shifting gears to national politics, Dubey commented on the upcoming Vice Presidential election on September 9. While the NDA’s candidate, C.P. Radhakrishnan, holds a numerical edge with votes from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs, the opposition’s pick, B. Sudarshan Reddy, isn’t out of the race. "Politics is all about possibilities," Dubey noted, recalling the surprises in the 2022 election. "Many MPs are being approached. Contesting is key—win or lose, it’s democracy at work."

Maharashtra CM’s Ad Campaign Draws Fire Over Shivaji Tribute

Dubey also took aim at Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over flashy full-page ads featuring him paying homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. These ‘Deva Bhau’ ads flooded newspapers and TV channels, but the opposition cries foul, alleging misuse of public funds and questioning the money’s source.

"These ads cost crores, yet they don’t even name the printer or publisher," Dubey fumed. "Is the CM promoting himself, or is someone else pulling the strings? If real work gets done, people will praise it naturally." He highlighted the poor timing, with the Ganpati festival underway and roads in bad shape. "Why splash money on PR instead of fixing infrastructure and public welfare? With a full majority, this self-promotion won’t impress the people of Maharashtra."

As tensions simmer in both states, these developments highlight the ongoing political battles ahead of key elections. Stay tuned for more updates on West Bengal politics, Mamata Banerjee support, and BJP controversies.
