Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and several schools received scary bomb threat emails on Sunday, sparking a quick police response. Authorities in New Delhi are investigating these threats, which targeted key spots like the airport and various institutions.
The emails warned that bombs had been planted near school and airport administrative areas. The sender, claiming to lead a group called “Terrorizers 111,” gave officials just 24 hours to act or face a “blood pool” of violence. Police say the threats sound like a hoax, but they’re not taking chances.
This isn’t the first time Delhi has dealt with such scares. Bomb threats have hit educational institutions across the city multiple times in recent months. Just about a week ago, schools including DPS Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya got similar warnings over phone calls. As a safety measure, staff evacuated students and buildings. Police rushed in with bomb disposal teams to search the sites. DPS Dwarka even shut down for the day and pushed back its mid-term exams due to the chaos.
Back on September 9, the University College of Medical Sciences got a fake bomb threat email. That same day, threats also hit Maulana Azad Medical College and the Delhi Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Nidhin Valsan noted the email to MAMC’s dean lacked any specific details about bombs, but a bomb squad still swept the area to be sure.
For now, police continue their probe into Sunday’s emails, urging calm while they hunt for the sender behind these Delhi bomb threats.
