Bomb Threats Rock Delhi and Bombay High Courts: Evacuations and Police Probes Underway

Mumbai and Delhi woke up to major security scares on Friday as both the Bombay High Court and Delhi High Court received chilling bomb threats. These incidents have sparked panic, leading to swift evacuations and full-scale investigations by police teams.

Let’s start with the Bombay High Court. Officials confirmed that the court got a bomb threat call this morning, forcing everyone—lawyers, staff, and visitors—to leave the premises right away. Advocate Mangala Waghe, speaking to , shared, "The Bombay High Court received a bomb threat today, so they’ve vacated the entire place. Police are on the case, investigating thoroughly." Another lawyer added that police instructed them to exit immediately, calling it an order from the Chief Justice. "They told us to go out because of a bomb threat rumor," he said. So far, no bomb has been found, but the area remains under tight security as cops hunt for the culprits behind this high court bomb threat.

This isn’t an isolated event. Just hours earlier, the Delhi High Court faced a similar nightmare after an email threat warned of bombs planted inside the judge’s room and court premises. The message, with the dramatic subject line "Pakistan Tamil Nadu collude for Holy Friday blasts. 3 bombs planted in judge room/court premises. Evacuate by 2pm," claimed three explosives were hidden and would detonate after midday prayers. It even mentioned ISIS involvement and referenced "assets sown since 2017" for a so-called Holy Friday attack. The sender used the email ID kanimozhi.thevidiya@outlook.com, and sources say it ties Pakistan to the plot.

Chaos erupted at the Delhi High Court as the alert spread like wildfire. All benches stopped proceedings, and hundreds of lawyers, litigants, and staff rushed out in fear. Sacchin Puri, Vice President of the Delhi High Court Bar Association, told , "We’re fully cooperating with security teams. As a precaution, we’ve asked everyone to evacuate, and all courts have risen." Senior Advocate Pramod Kumar Dubey confirmed, "A threat email is circulating, claiming it’s from ISIS, though the details are murky. Police and the bomb squad are here now." Another lawyer on site said security officials halted everything and ordered a full evacuation—proceedings are on hold.

Security forces jumped into action fast. Delhi Police, along with bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs, sealed off the area. Fire trucks and ambulances stood ready, just in case. No suspicious items have turned up yet, but the investigation is in full swing to track the email’s origin and nab those responsible for this Delhi High Court bomb threat.

These back-to-back high court bomb threats in India highlight growing concerns over hoax alerts disrupting public spaces. Police urge the public to stay calm and report any suspicious activity. We’ll keep you updated as more details emerge from these ongoing probes.
