Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s launch of next-generation GST reforms and the start of the GST Bachat Utsav as a smart move that puts everyday citizens first in governance.
Speaking for the people of Andhra Pradesh, Naidu shared his warm thanks to the Prime Minister for this bold step forward in GST 2.0. He posted on X right after Modi’s national address, calling it a perfect timing with the festive season. “This Next Gen GST creates a double celebration for Indians, bringing lower prices, easier taxes, and a more inclusive economy that everyone can thrive in,” Naidu said.
The reforms cut tax slabs down to just two: 5 percent and 18 percent. Now, nearly 99 percent of essential items sit in the lower 5 percent category. Naidu pointed out how this will make daily life cheaper and more affordable, especially for the middle class, poor families, farmers, women, and young people. “It cuts costs, boosts business growth, and draws in fresh investments,” he added.
As a key ally in the BJP-led NDA government through his Telugu Desam Party, Naidu encouraged Indians to proudly buy swadeshi or local products. This push ties into self-reliance and national pride, echoing Modi’s famous line, “Garv se kaho, ye Swadeshi hai.” Naidu described the Prime Minister’s “Nagrik Devo Bhava” approach—treating citizens like guests—as a true gift for today’s India and generations to come.
He also backed Modi’s vision of states as equal partners in growth, ramping up local manufacturing through cooperative federalism. “I’m fully on board and committed to building a golden Andhra Pradesh in line with Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat,” Naidu concluded.
