In Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh, BJP MLA Bhawna Bohra from Pandariya took a bold stand against alleged religious conversions. She organized a special Ghar Wapsi ceremony, helping 70 people from tribal communities return to Hinduism. The event happened on Sewa Diwas at the Special Backward Tribe Hostel Grounds in Kui-Kukdur, drawing folks from villages like Jhoomar, Bohil, Agarpani, Neur, and Chhindidih.

Bhawna Bohra called this a big win in protecting tribal culture and heritage. During the ceremony, she washed the feet of the returning individuals as a warm welcome and honor. “This isn’t just about faith—it’s a cultural and spiritual awakening,” she shared, highlighting how it strengthens tribal identity.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the MLA praised the efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. She noted how these steps preserve the rich traditions of tribal brothers and sisters, bringing them back to their roots and into the mainstream while respecting their unique ways.

Bohra didn’t hold back on her concerns. She warned about foreign-funded NGOs and missionary groups that she says target tribal populations with inducements and false info, posing a real threat to their age-old customs. “We must fight forced religious conversion to safeguard our heritage,” she added.

The MLA also talked about tougher laws ahead. Chhattisgarh’s government plans an anti-conversion law to stop coercive or tricky tactics, ensuring tribal communities stay safe from manipulation. “This is about identity, culture, and keeping our ancient traditions alive—the ones that balance our forests, water, and land,” Bohra emphasized.

Such Ghar Wapsi events spark debates on religious freedom and tribal rights in India, showing the BJP’s push to protect Hindu roots in sensitive areas like Chhattisgarh.
