In Patna, Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan told reporters that the political mood in Bihar is strongly in favor of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as the Assembly elections approach.
The minister said he and his party leaders had reached a “friendly” seat‑sharing deal with the BJP and JD‑U, and that the NDA is looking to strengthen its alliance even further. “We have given respectful seats to all partners,” Paswan said, thanking the BJP and JD‑U for their cooperation.
The NDA has announced candidates for all 243 seats in the state. “We want to field strong, winnable names in every constituency,” he added. The alliance plans to push its 100‑percent campaign strategy, which won them a clean sweep in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Paswan also criticized the opposition Grand Alliance – made up of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, left parties and the Vikassheel Insaan Party – for fighting among themselves instead of focusing on voters. “They don’t even know how many seats they’re contesting, and many of their candidates are facing each other,” he said.
When asked about claims that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav would form the next Bihar government, Paswan called the idea “absurd.” “No one is accepting him as a real leader,” he said. He warned that a coalition riddled with confusion can’t offer stable governance.
Paswan’s remarks come as the NDA begins its official campaign in Bihar, with party leaders from all alliance partners launching rallies and discussing strategies to secure every seat.
