Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Boosts Girls’ Education with Free Scootys and Funds
In a big push for student welfare in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to distribute funds for free e-scootys to top-performing students today. This exciting event highlights the state’s commitment to rewarding hard work and supporting girls’ education.
On Thursday, CM Yadav will release money for 7,832 students who aced their Class 12 exams in government higher secondary schools across Madhya Pradesh. These toppers, from schools run by the School Education Department or Tribal Affairs Department, qualify if they studied regularly and secured the first position in their board exams—covering all subjects.
The free e-scooty scheme, a hit since the 2022-23 academic year, ensures fairness. In girls-only or boys-only schools, the single topper gets the reward. For co-ed schools, both the top boy and top girl scorer win one each. This year, for the 2024-25 session, a whopping 7,832 students will benefit from this Madhya Pradesh government initiative.
The ceremony kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal. Joining CM Yadav will be key ministers like School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Tribal Affairs Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang, MSME Minister Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap, and Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Krishna Gaur.
But that’s not all—CM Yadav will also transfer Rs 61 crore via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of over 20.37 lakh girls from Class 7 to 12. This funding falls under the Samagra Shiksha Sanitation and Hygiene Scheme, helping girls stay healthy and focused on studies.
Adding to the support, the CM will disburse Rs 7 crore in stipends to 20,100 girls living in hostels under the Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ School Type-IV Scheme. Each eligible girl gets Rs 3,400 a year for teaching-learning materials and other essentials, making education more accessible.
This comes hot on the heels of July’s announcement, when the Madhya Pradesh government released Rs 239 crore for laptops to over 94,000 meritorious Class 12 students scoring above 75%. Each got Rs 25,000 straight to their accounts to buy a device, boosting digital learning.
These steps show how the Madhya Pradesh student incentive programs are transforming lives, one scooty and scholarship at a time. Stay tuned for more updates on education schemes in India!
