Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Kicks Off Golden Jubilee of ISBTI at TRANSCON 2025 in Gurugram
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini lit up the stage in Gurugram on Friday by inaugurating the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohaematology (ISBTI). The event, part of the exciting TRANSCON 2025 conference, brought together experts to celebrate 50 years of life-saving work in blood transfusion and immunohaematology.
Saini praised the ISBTI team for their vital role in India’s healthcare sector. "They’re doing incredible things for humanity, especially in blood transfusion services," he said. Cabinet Minister Arvind Sharma joined the occasion, adding to the star power.
The Chief Minister called it a huge honour for Haryana to host this milestone event. He shared warm greetings with the organizers and described ISBTI’s five decades of dedication as a shining example of commitment. "This is a crucial time for blood transfusion and healthcare. Their 50 years of hard work have touched the lives of lakhs of people," Saini added.
TRANSCON 2025 runs for three days, with the theme "Golden Jubilee TRANSCON: Past Achievements and Future Horizons." Attendees will dive into discussions on ISBTI’s past successes and exciting future paths in blood transfusion and immunohaematology. Saini pointed out that Haryana has a special connection— the 10th TRANSCON happened in Rohtak in 1983, and the 36th in Panchkula in 2011. Plus, ISBTI’s contact centre sits right in Hisar.
Founded in 1972, ISBTI focuses on boosting blood bank quality across India and encouraging voluntary blood donations. Saini highlighted how patients facing accidents, surgeries, childbirth, cancer, or thalassemia desperately need safe blood supplies. "We must keep pushing for that," he urged.
Looking ahead, the CM stressed innovation in blood transfusion technology. He called for more research into next-gen blood testing, AI-powered blood matching, and even artificial blood. In a cool eco-friendly twist, TRANSCON 2025 became the first Indian medical conference to launch a "Go Green" initiative. Saini tied it to Haryana’s own green drive, the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, which plants trees to build environmental awareness.
On Haryana’s blood services progress, Saini shared upbeat stats: The state now runs 149 blood centres and aims to collect 3.3 lakh units of blood this year. He wrapped up by saying this three-day conference will open new doors in blood transfusion and immunohaematology, setting the stage for better healthcare for all.
