Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar kicked off a busy day of development work on Thursday, launching and laying foundations for major projects worth more than Rs 822 crore in Bhagalpur and Khagaria districts. As the state heads toward Assembly elections, these moves highlight his focus on boosting local infrastructure and welfare.
In Bhagalpur, Nitish Kumar unveiled 59 key projects totaling around Rs 302 crore. Many of these tie back to promises from his earlier Pragati Yatra tour. They target better roads, public services, and everyday improvements to help residents live better lives.
He also took time to chat with people benefiting from programs like the Social Security Pension Scheme, Jeevika self-help groups, and electricity users. Local workers shared their problems, and the chief minister quickly instructed officials to fix them.
From there, Nitish Kumar headed to Khagaria, where he started 256 projects valued at about Rs 520 crore. These efforts, also linked to Pragati Yatra announcements, emphasize rural roads, better connections between towns, and community support systems.
At the events, Nitish Kumar stressed the impact: “These initiatives will provide new impetus and direction to development in the region and bring direct benefits to the people.”
This trip fits into a fast-paced schedule blending governance with election campaigning. Just a day earlier, on Wednesday, he visited Kaimur and Rohtas districts, rolling out projects worth over Rs 1,911 crore.
In Kaimur, at a big gathering in Bhabua’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel College, he launched 178 projects totaling Rs 980.15 crore. That included laying foundations for 51 initiatives at Rs 854.66 crore and inaugurating 127 others costing Rs 125.49 crore.
Over in Rohtas, at the School Education Project campus, Nitish Kumar greenlit projects worth Rs 931 crore. These cover electricity upgrades, urban growth, and widening canal paths—steps first pledged during his Pragati Yatra.
With Bihar’s Assembly polls on the horizon, the chief minister keeps up the momentum, hitting two districts each day to deliver on development while connecting with voters.
