Patna, Oct 25 () – With the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections just a few days away, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stepped up his campaign in Buxar district. He spoke to a packed crowd at the Raj High School ground in Dumraon, urging voters to back the NDA‑backed candidates in all four local constituencies.
Kumar highlighted the state’s progress over the last twenty years. He said that before 2005, Bihar suffered from chaos and mismanagement, but under his leadership it has become a model of development, stability and good governance. “We have changed how the world sees Bihar. Our focus has been on education, healthcare and women’s empowerment,” he told the audience.
He listed key achievements: new polytechnics and engineering colleges, upgraded schools and health centres, and a road network that cuts travel time from Dumraon to Patna from six hours to just one‑and‑a‑half hours. Kumar also pointed out that 40 lakh young people now have jobs and that 1.21 crore women received Rs 10,000 each to start their own businesses.
“Our government offers 35 % reservation for women in state jobs, raises salaries for teachers, cooks, Anganwadi workers and other essential staff, and boosts social‑security pensions for widows, the elderly and disabled,” he added. He pledged to create jobs for a crore young people in the next five years. The crowd erupted in applause.
Kumar closed by stressing that rule of law is firmly established in Bihar. “Today the state enjoys peace and order. We’ll keep working for the welfare and prosperity of every community,” he said.
The speech comes as the state prepares for a decisive electoral battle that could reshape Bihar’s political landscape.
