Patna, Oct. 21 – Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is gearing up to launch his assembly‑election campaign on Tuesday, kicking off a series of rallies that are expected to shape the state’s political future.
Kumar will begin his campaign in the Minapur assembly constituency, where he’s scheduled to hit two major rallies in Muzaffarpur that day. The first event will take place at the playground of Minapur High School, giving the CM a platform to showcase his government’s development record and outline new projects.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar praised his coalition’s progress, saying the chief minister has “continuously inspected development projects and laid foundations for new work.” He added that the upcoming rallies would let voters see how the NDA “has brought development to every section of society.” The spokesperson also slammed the Mahagathbandhan, labeling its leaders as being “stuck in internal conflicts” and describing their politics as a “family affair.”
BJP state president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal echoed that optimism. He noted that the election campaign’s first phase starts today, and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar on October 24 to commemorate the late people’s leader Karpoori Thakur. “While the opposition’s leaders keep fighting over ‘Janayak’ titles, the public knows that ‘jungle raj’ must end. The NDA will form the government again,” Jaiswal said.
Jaiswal also critiqued the RJD’s ticket distribution, pointing out that it appeared to favour certain families. “Their arbitrary ticket allocation shows they want to revive ‘jungle raj’, but Bihar’s voters see through that,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who is in Bihar for campaign visits, shared his confidence that the NDA will win. “Prime Minister Modi is our supreme leader. Wherever elections take place, his programs are in motion. Bihar is ready for Modi’s visit, and the NDA is on a steady path to victory,” Maurya told reporters.
With the NDA’s confidence high and the Mahagathbandhan facing internal divisions, the stage is set for a tight contest that could decide Bihar’s next government.
