In New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stopped by the home of BJP national president and minister J.P. Nadda on Sunday. The visit came as the party ramps up its campaign for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.
Adityanath arrived that evening in the capital’s official residence of Nadda. The two leaders exchanged greetings and quickly discussed a few key points. On X (formerly Twitter), Yogi posted, “Today a courtesy meeting was held in New Delhi with the honourable National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda Ji. Heartfelt thanks to you for providing your valuable time!” The stop was part of regular senior‑level exchanges within the BJP.
Earlier that day, the chief minister turned his attention back to Uttar Pradesh, where he toured preparations for the annual Kartik Purnima fair in Garhmukteshwar, Hapur, and the Tigri fair in Amroha. After an aerial survey of the venues, he held a review meeting with officials and set out clear directives.
Yogi highlighted that the Kartik Purnima fair, scheduled from Oct 30 to Nov 5, draws 40‑45 lakh devotees who come to bathe in the Ganga and light lamps. He stressed timely and well‑coordinated arrangements to ensure a smooth experience for visitors. The chief minister gave top priority to traffic management, security, sanitation, health facilities, drinking water, and lighting.
For safety, he ordered the deployment of NDRF and SDRF teams, installation of CCTV cameras and drone surveillance, and the provision of rescue boats at all Ganga ghats. He also called for a complete ban on single‑use plastic. The Irrigation Department was tasked with placing checkerboard plates, testing pontoon bridges, and completing dredging work in erosion‑prone areas.
The fair, dubbed the “Mini Kumbh,” aims to combine religious devotion with cleanliness and environmental protection, according to Adityanath.
