
In New Delhi, the Congress announced on Monday a fresh wave of appointments that will shape the party’s outreach to India’s tribal communities and strengthen its national network.
Vikrant Bhuria, the party’s All India Adivasi Congress (AIAC) chairman, sent an official note from the party headquarters confirming that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the new members. Bhuria welcomed the appointees and stressed that the move is part of the Congress’s ongoing effort to give tribal groups a stronger voice in politics.
Advisory Council
The AIAC Advisory Council now includes senior leaders from across the country. Highlights are:
- Chhattisgarh – Deepak Baij, Phulodevi Netam, Mohan Markam, Kawasi Lakhma, Premsai Singh Tekam, Amarjeet Bhagat, Khelsai Singh, Rampukar Singh Thakur

Leaders from Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttarakhand also joined the roster.

The North‑East Tribal Advisory Council has been re‑constituted with powerful regional voices:

The communications made by Bhuria were forwarded to President Kharge, central and state office‑bearers, and heads of party departments, marking a key step in the Congress’s tribe‑focused strategy.
