As Bihar’s Assembly elections heat up, political buzz is filling the air across the state. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to make her first trip to Motihari on September 26, where she’ll kick off the party’s election campaign with a big public rally.
At Gandhi Maidan in Motihari, Priyanka will speak directly to supporters, drawing crowds eager to hear from the Wayanad MP and Congress General Secretary. This event marks a key launch for Congress in the Bihar Assembly elections, aiming to rally voters ahead of the polls.
Party leaders are ramping up efforts to make it a success. Rajya Sabha MP and former Bihar Congress chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh recently gathered workers at the District Congress Office. He flagged off a campaign vehicle to spread the word and boost turnout. Congress teams have been hitting the streets, urging locals to join in large numbers for the Priyanka Gandhi rally.
Akhilesh Singh told reporters that the event stays focused on Priyanka—no invites for leaders from the Mahagathbandhan, the Grand Alliance that includes Congress. “This is her first rally in Bihar, all about her,” he said. “People want to see Priyanka Gandhi, so we’re keeping it centered on that. Anyone can show up, but no other alliance leaders will join the stage.”
On seat-sharing talks within the Mahagathbandhan, Singh shared good news: the deal is done. “We’ve finalized everything,” he explained. “The Election Commission hasn’t announced the schedule yet, but we’ll reveal the details at the right moment.” This could shape how opposition parties challenge Bihar’s ruling NDA in the upcoming elections.
Singh also weighed in on rumors of a split in Lalu Yadav’s family, a key player in Bihar politics. Dismissing the talk, he said, “I know the Lalu family well. As long as Lalu Ji is around, one stern word from him sorts it all out. None of his children will ever break away—I’m sure of that.”
Just days earlier, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a moment for spirituality during a visit to the Sree Kunnath Mahavishnu Temple in Manassery, near Kozhikode in Kerala. She called the experience “deeply touching,” soaking in the temple’s peaceful vibe and spiritual energy.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Priyanka described waiting in line with “many lovely ladies” to offer prayers, adding a fun note about being “weighed in bananas—one too many, maybe!” She praised the temple’s vibrant painted walls and a stunning hand-carved chariot made by two local brothers she met there.
“There’s so much tradition and talent,” she wrote. “Wayanad is truly a place for everyone to visit.” Her temple visit highlights Priyanka’s blend of political drive and personal reflections, keeping her connected with voters nationwide.
