Patna, India – The Congress party’s top decision-making body, the Congress Working Committee (CWC), kicks off its first-ever meeting in Patna today at the historic Sadaqat Ashram. This gathering brings together Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, and all 170 committee members – a big moment as Bihar gears up for its Assembly elections.
At a lively press conference from the Bihar Congress headquarters, state party chief Rajesh Ram, along with in-charge Krishna Allavaru and leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan, called the event a game-changer for the party and the state. They stressed the venue’s deep roots in India’s freedom fight.
Rajesh Ram shared how freedom fighter Maulana Mazharul Haq donated 21 acres of land back in 1921 to create Sadaqat Ashram. It turned into a powerhouse for the independence movement, where Mahatma Gandhi, Rajendra Prasad, and Jawaharlal Nehru plotted key strategies. The Champaran Satyagraha started right from here, sparking real change.
Shakeel Ahmad Khan didn’t hold back in slamming the NDA government. He accused them of “looting” Bihar for 20 years and the whole country for the last 11. “It’s time for Bihar and India to break free from their plunder,” Khan said. He highlighted how the CWC meeting will rally against the mistreatment of everyday people, women, and young folks. Over two crore people have had to leave home for jobs, and Congress stands firm against these wrongs.
Expect the meeting to roll out major resolutions. It’s all about firing up support for the Bihar polls and ramping up criticism of both the state and central governments. This CWC session in Patna could boost Congress’s push in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Krishna Allavaru, the Bihar Pradesh Congress in-charge, said the talks won’t just stick to local issues. They’ll tackle national headaches like soaring inflation, job shortages, violence against women, and a government he claims kowtows to former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Allavaru took direct aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, comparing him to a lazy student who cheats to pass exams. “Narendra Modi and Amit Shah win elections by stealing votes,” he charged. He blamed rising crime in Bihar on sloppy policing and administration, plus endless paper leaks in exams.
“When students protest for their rights, police baton-charge them. The BJP and NDA get bold from this vote theft,” Allavaru added. He praised Congress for exposing these tricks nationwide.
To connect with voters, Congress has launched drives like the “Stop Migration, Give Jobs Yatra” and “Voter Adhikar Yatra.” Allavaru said these efforts are winning hearts and teaching people to fight back against election fraud.
On the bright side, seat-sharing talks in the INDIA bloc alliance are moving forward without hitches. “We’ll hash it out together and settle everything, including who leads as Chief Minister, at the right time,” Allavaru assured.
