B.Ed. students in Himachal Pradesh have a clear timetable for filling the remaining university seats. The Department of Education at H.P. University has announced an on‑spot, offline counselling session for the 2025‑2027 academic year. Candidates can expect the counselling to run on Thursday, October 8, and Friday, October 9, beginning at 11 a.m. at the College of Distance and Open Teaching (CDOT) in Summer Hill, Shimla.

The decision comes after the Vice‑Chancellor signed off on the session. The event will also cover admissions for the Government College of Teacher Education in Dharmashala and other self‑financed B.Ed. colleges linked to the university. The central committee coordinating the process will meet the candidates in person, helping them choose the best available seat under the Himachal Pradesh quota.

Who can join? All eligible applicants—those who scored at least 53 marks in the open category or 45 marks in reserved categories on the 2025 B.Ed. Entrance Test—can apply for the October 8‑9 counselling. To reserve a spot, candidates must visit the H.P. University admission portal from October 4 until midnight on October 7. The university also accepts applications during the counselling days for any remaining vacant seats, so it’s worth applying early.

In other news, the Himachal government is launching a special overseas recruitment drive on Saturday, October 9, at the Government Polytechnic in Hamirpur. Led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the program is run by the Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (HPSEDC) together with the Department of Labour & Employment, the Department of Technical Education, and an external recruitment agency registered with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The drive aims to give state youth jobs abroad, both in technical and non‑technical fields. All successful applicants will be selected through the MEA‑registered agency, ensuring a fair and transparent process. The government says it is committed to helping young people from Himachal stay competitive on a global stage.

Interested candidates should keep an eye on local employment offices, the HPSEDC website, and social media pages for detailed registration instructions, eligibility criteria, and required documents. Stay tuned for more information as the dates approach.
