CPI Leader D Raja Slams PM Modi for Attacking RJD and Congress in Bihar

In a sharp response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent Bihar visit, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Raja has hit out at the PM for targeting opposition parties like RJD and Congress. Raja feels Modi should focus on the achievements of NDA governments in the poll-bound state instead of making accusations.

Speaking to on Tuesday, Raja pointed out that Modi, as the head of the central government, should highlight Bihar’s development progress. "He should have shared a proper report card on development works," Raja said. He also questioned why the PM skipped mentioning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, which opposition parties are protesting over its handling.

Raja didn’t hold back, calling Modi’s statements "absurd" and unfit for a Prime Minister. "Bihar is struggling with voter rights restoration. What does the PM have to say about that? What has this government done for Bihar? Instead, he’s busy blaming RJD and Congress," Raja told . He stressed the need for "proper and decent" discussions on key issues.

This comes after Modi’s public rally in Purnea, Bihar, on Monday. There, the PM accused opposition leaders of tarnishing Bihar’s image and showing contempt for the state’s progress. "Historic construction projects are underway, and Bihar-made railway engines are now exporting abroad. But whenever Bihar moves forward, these people start insulting it," Modi said.

Modi also unveiled development projects worth around Rs 40,000 crore, including the launch of the National Makhana Board. He took a dig at Congress, an RJD ally, for allegedly comparing Bihar to a "beedi" on social media. "These people hate Bihar and have damaged its reputation through scams and corruption," the PM claimed.

With Bihar assembly elections set for later this year, the political heat is rising fast in the state. Both sides are gearing up, and debates over development, voter rolls, and governance are at the forefront. Stay tuned as the Bihar polls 2023 campaign intensifies.
