New Delhi, Oct 25 – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan met the top leaders of the Indian Army on Saturday to talk about how best to keep the armed forces ready for any challenge. The discussion took place during the Army Commanders’ Conference, an event that brings senior officers together to review strategy and operations.
The meeting focused on boosting the army’s combat power, upgrading its infrastructure, and sharpening overall readiness. Singh and the CDS reviewed the current security environment in the region and outlined steps the Army can take to stay prepared for future threats. Officers and jawans were briefed on new initiatives aimed at strengthening both tactical capability and logistical support.
In the same week, the Defence Minister and the CDS spoke with the Navy’s top commanders at the Indian Navy’s biannual Commanders’ Conference. They praised the navy’s professionalism and resolve, and emphasized the importance of joint operations, integrated warfare and the nation’s maritime strategy in the Indian Ocean. The CDS highlighted the push toward an “Aatmanirbhar” (self‑reliant) navy and the goal of building a combat‑ready, credible force for the future.
Overall, the back‑to‑back meetings show the government’s commitment to modernising the Indian Defence Forces. By focusing on jointness, indigenisation, and future‑ready technology, the leadership aims to keep India’s army and navy fully prepared to protect the country’s interests on all fronts.
